Super Falcons Celebrate First Lady Oluremi Tinubu with “Na Our Mama Be This O” Chant at Presidential Villa

The Super Falcons paid heartfelt tribute to First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu with the now-iconic chant “Na our mama be this o” during their reception at the Presidential Villa on Monday.

The team, fresh from clinching their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, broke into the chant twice—upon their arrival and just before the First Lady’s speech—expressing deep gratitude for her unwavering support throughout their journey. Senator Tinubu smiled warmly, praising the Falcons for their discipline, resilience, and commitment to proudly representing Nigeria on the international stage.

This chant, meaning “This is our mother,” gained widespread attention earlier this year when it sparked controversy during an event at the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, where students challenged the First Lady’s claim as “everyone’s mother” with a viral response, “Na your mama be this.”

However, the Falcons’ use of the phrase carried a different tone—one of celebration, unity, and respect. President Bola Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu hosted the victorious squad just days after their dramatic 3-2 triumph over Morocco, cementing Nigeria’s continued dominance in African women’s football with WAFCON wins in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2024, and now 2025.
