Senator Onyewuchi Powers Up Imo East With Electricity and Water Projects
Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, representing Imo East Senatorial District and leader of the Peoples’ Movement, has inaugurated two major constituency projects aimed at improving access to electricity and clean water in Imo State.

In Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, the senator commissioned a 500KVA transformer substation in Ihenworie Ogwuama Ahiara, a community that had long struggled with unstable power supply. The project, described as a game-changer by locals, is expected to significantly boost economic activities and improve daily living conditions.

During the ceremony, traditional ruler Eze Sabinus Nwaneche commended Senator Onyewuchi’s dedication to grassroots development, noting that the new transformer has already brought relief to residents. He described the senator as a “true friend of the people” and lauded his consistent efforts in delivering impactful projects and empowerment programs.

In a separate event in Owerri, the senator also unveiled a 10,000-litre solar-powered borehole with accompanying solar street lights at Christ Anglican Church. The water project is set to benefit the church and five surrounding schools, enhancing both sanitation and security in the area.

The church’s Vicar and Archdeacon, Ven. Simeon Duruji (PhD), praised Onyewuchi’s ongoing support, referencing a recent free medical outreach, eye treatment initiative, and health insurance enrolment organized by the senator. In recognition of his humanitarian service, the church presented him with an award.

Similarly, the Ogwuama Progressives (Home and Abroad) honored Senator Onyewuchi for his visible commitment to constituency development, calling him a model of effective representation.

Speaking at both events, Senator Onyewuchi reaffirmed his resolve to continue delivering the dividends of democracy. “My drive is service to God and humanity,” he stated, pledging to do more for the people of Imo East.
