
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has lauded the All Progressives Congress’s sweeping success in the July 12 local government elections, describing it as a strong expression of Lagosians’ confidence in the party’s leadership and developmental agenda.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured a sweeping victory in Saturday’s local government elections in Lagos State, winning all 57 chairmanship seats and 375 out of 376 councillorship positions.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Sanwo-Olu congratulated the party’s leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, describing the outcome as a “resounding victory” across the 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas.
“This result is a clear affirmation of the trust and confidence the good people of Lagos have in the APC’s vision, leadership, and steadfast commitment to inclusive development at the grassroots,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The governor extended his congratulations to the newly elected chairmen and councillors, while reminding them that the real work lies ahead.
“Your responsibility is to deliver good governance, uplift your communities, and promote the welfare of every resident—regardless of political affiliation,” he stated.
He urged the new officials to lead with humility, transparency, and compassion, emphasizing the importance of inclusive leadership that bridges all divides.
Addressing aspirants who lost during the primaries, Sanwo-Olu commended their courage and dedication, encouraging them to remain loyal and committed to unity within the party.
