Remo Stars to Host NPFL Home Matches in Abeokuta Amid Stadium Renovations

Remo Stars have designated the Moshood Kashimawo Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta as their temporary home ground for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The club made the announcement on Monday, revealing that their regular home stadium in Ikenne is currently undergoing renovation in preparation for the new football season.

In addition to domestic fixtures, the Sky Blue Stars are in the process of seeking approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to stage their CAF Champions League home games at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.

Under the guidance of head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, Remo Stars will kick off their continental campaign next month with a CAF Champions League clash against US Zilimadjou from Comoros.

The Ikenne-based team made history last season by winning their first-ever NPFL title, having finished as runners-up in the two seasons prior.

Remo Stars will begin their title defense on Friday, hosting Rivers United in a matchday one fixture at their temporary Abeokuta venue.
