President Tinubu Jets Out to Paris on ‘Working Visit’

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a significant two-week working visit to Paris, an opportunity for reflection, evaluation, and future planning.

According to a statement issued by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, this visit will serve as a platform for the President to conduct a thorough review of his administration’s mid-term achievements and assess key milestones attained thus far.

“This period will be dedicated to critically appraising the progress made and identifying areas for accelerated growth in the coming year,” Onanuga shared. “It is a time to consolidate on the strides made and strategically deepen reforms to elevate national development.”

The President’s departure was marked by a heartfelt send-off, with several high-ranking government officials present to see him off as he boarded the presidential jet.

The visit comes at a time of notable progress in Nigeria’s economic landscape, with the Central Bank recently announcing a remarkable surge in the nation’s net foreign exchange reserves, which have now reached $23.11 billion.

This increase marks a substantial leap from the $3.99 billion reported in 2023, underscoring the success of fiscal reforms under the current administration. Onanuga emphasized that the growth in reserves is a direct reflection of President Tinubu’s commitment to robust economic management.

“President Tinubu’s foreign visit will not disrupt his connection with Nigeria’s affairs,” the statement continued. “Even in Paris, he will remain in constant communication with his team, ensuring that government operations proceed seamlessly.”

This trip is far from the President’s first international engagement. Earlier this year, before attending the African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, Tinubu privately visited France.

During that visit, he held key discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron, focusing on strengthening the Nigeria-France commercial ties, boosting investment prospects, and fostering deeper bilateral exchanges.

As President Tinubu embarks on this momentous visit, his unwavering commitment to both national progress and international relations remains clear, with eyes firmly set on the future of Nigeria’s development and prosperity.
