“Portable Lands in Prison Over Unmet ₦1M Bail Conditions”

Controversial street-hop artist Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin after failing to meet his ₦1 million bail condition set by the Upper Area Court in Kwara State on Monday, April 14.
The 31-year-old singer is facing multiple charges, including cyberstalking, defamation, criminal intimidation, and incitement of public unrest. These legal troubles are rooted in a long-brewing conflict with Fuji veteran Saheed Osupa, who petitioned the police following remarks made by Portable during an Instagram Live session on March 19.
In the now-viral video, Portable accused Osupa of sabotaging his music career, claiming the Fuji legend was responsible for taking down his song “Fuji Shakushaku” from streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify. “This man dey try bring down my shine,” Portable said in the video. “Him no get sense. Osupa carry tortoise for stomach.”
Osupa has strongly refuted the claims, describing the comments as not only damaging to his reputation but also capable of inciting hatred and unrest among fans.
The dispute reportedly intensified after Osupa flagged Portable’s 2023 release Fuji Shakushaku for alleged copyright infringement, which led to the removal of the track from several platforms.
Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed that Portable was arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State, around 7:25 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, following an investigation by the State Intelligence Department. He was later transferred to Ilorin for further legal proceedings.
“In light of the serious nature of the allegations and the supporting evidence provided, a valid arrest warrant was obtained from the Magistrate Court in Ilorin,” Ejire-Adeyemi stated. “The suspect has since given his statement in the presence of legal counsel from both parties.”
As of now, Portable remains in custody while his legal team works on fulfilling the bail terms.
