The governor reacted on Thursday to the killing of seven people by gunmen who stormed a mining site in Kuru community late on Wednesday night.
In a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and described the attack as barbaric, senseless, and deeply unfortunate, particularly at a time when the state government is intensifying efforts to restore lasting peace across Plateau State.

“The tragic loss of innocent lives is deeply painful. However, these cowardly acts of terror will not weaken our resolve to confront banditry, terrorism, and all forms of criminality head-on,” the statement quoted the governor as saying.
Governor Mutfwang commended the resilience and dedication of security agencies operating in the state and urged them to intensify intelligence-driven operations to ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of those behind the attacks.
He further directed security agencies to strengthen collaboration with local communities to proactively identify, disrupt, and neutralise emerging security threats, while assuring affected families of the government’s solidarity and support.
