PDP Shifts National Convention to November, Moves Venue to Ibadan

Party cites strategic adjustments; Convention postponed from August to November 2025

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced a shift in the date and venue of its National Elective Convention, moving it from August to November 2025.

This was disclosed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, during a press conference held in Abuja on Thursday, following the conclusion of the PDP’s 101st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Ologunagba stated that the convention will now be held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, instead of the initially scheduled location in Kano. He said the adjustment was part of strategic preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rescheduling comes amid a flurry of political realignments and renewed opposition efforts to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next election cycle.

More details are expected to emerge regarding the rationale behind the venue change and how the shift aligns with the party’s broader political strategy.
