Pakistan Strikes Back as India-Pakistan Conflict Nears Full-Scale War

Tensions between India and Pakistan have dangerously escalated, with Pakistan launching retaliatory strikes after Indian air attacks on three of its military bases. The exchange marks the most serious conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbors in decades.

The flare-up follows a deadly bombing in Indian-administered Kashmir that killed 26 Hindu tourists. India blames Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba; Islamabad denies involvement and demands an independent investigation.

Pakistan reported intercepting most missiles with no damage to its air assets, while India claimed it destroyed several Pakistani drones and faced renewed attacks near Amritsar and along the Line of Control (LoC).

Both countries have engaged in cross-border shelling and drone warfare, with dozens of civilian casualties reported. Schools, airports, and major events like the IPL and Pakistan’s T20 league have been suspended amid the chaos.

Global leaders, including the U.S., G7, and the UN, have called for restraint. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio offered to mediate, warning that continued escalation could have devastating regional and global consequences.
