Oyebanji approves work-from-home policy for Ekiti workers

The Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has announced a new work-from-home policy for civil servants aimed at easing the impact of the current economic situation.

Starting on Monday, September 9, 2024, the policy will allow varying levels of government employees to work remotely: those on levels 01-07 will work from home three days a week, levels 08-12 two days a week, and levels 13-17 one day a week.

Essential workers, such as teachers, health professionals, and security personnel, are excluded from this arrangement to ensure uninterrupted delivery of vital services.

Each government agency is tasked with creating a workable schedule to ensure that service delivery remains effective.

The policy will be in effect for two months and will be reviewed regularly. It complements existing measures such as monthly wage awards and free transportation services for workers and students, reflecting the administration’s ongoing commitment to worker welfare and productivity.
