Renowned Turkish sports journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan has shed new light on the transfer situation involving Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
According to Özcan, the Nigerian forward has been persuaded to remain at Galatasaray beyond the summer transfer window, despite interest from top European clubs such as Chelsea.
He revealed that Galatasaray president Abdullah Kavukcu is currently in negotiations with Napoli to finalize a permanent deal for the 26-year-old attacker.
This development follows Galatasaray’s recent acquisition of Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich.
Özcan was quoted saying: “Second bombshell in Galatasaray… Leroy Sane is over, Osimhen is next! The player was convinced. Abdullah Kavukcu is in transfer negotiations with Napoli.”
Galatasaray vice president Ibrahim Hatipoglu has also expressed confidence in securing Osimhen on a permanent basis. The club is eager to retain the former Lille star after a successful loan stint.
