Osimhen Fires Galatasaray to League Title, Rooney Recommends Move to Manchester United

Victor Osimhen continued his sensational form as Galatasaray completed a domestic double, clinching the Turkish Super Lig title just four days after winning the Turkish Cup. The Nigerian striker scored twice in the cup final to end Galatasaray’s five-year wait for the trophy, and on Sunday, his team wrapped up the league crown with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kayserispor.
The back-to-back league champions sealed the title with two matches to spare, holding an 11-point advantage over second-placed Fenerbahce. Needing just a single point to mathematically secure their third successive title, Galatasaray left no room for doubt by collecting all three and putting the calculations to rest.
Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, has been a driving force in Galatasaray’s outstanding campaign. His incredible return of 25 goals in 29 league appearances has been central to securing the club’s 25th Super Lig title.
Widely regarded as the standout team in the Turkish top flight this season, Galatasaray’s success has been in large part thanks to Osimhen’s consistent brilliance in front of goal. He currently leads the league in scoring and continues to shatter records.
In the Turkish Cup semifinal against Trabzonspor on Wednesday, Osimhen reached a historic milestone with a brace that saw him surpass Mario Jardel’s long-standing record from 2000, becoming the highest-scoring foreign player in the history of Turkish football.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a career-best season, amassing a remarkable 35 goals across all competitions: 24 in the Trendyol Super Lig, 6 in the UEFA Europa League, and 5 in the Turkish Cup.
Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has called on his former club to sign three key players this summer, including Osimhen. With United under the leadership of manager Ruben Amorim, Rooney believes that bolstering the squad with specific reinforcements is crucial.
Speaking to Amazon Prime, Rooney said: “I would probably sign David de Gea back. I think Manchester United have missed him and he could still do a very good job for United. I would sign Victor Osimhen as the No. 9. I think he is a good striker and would possibly be available this summer. The third one would be difficult but I would try to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. I think he would have a really good impact on the club.”
With Osimhen’s loan spell in Turkey concluding this summer, his future remains a major topic of speculation, with clubs across Europe likely to compete for his signature.
