Onyekuru Joins Gençlerbirliği on Two-Year Deal

Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru has completed a permanent move to Turkish Super Lig side Gençlerbirliği, signing a two-year deal with the newly promoted club.
The 28-year-old joins the Red and Black on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Fayha, where he netted 10 goals in 29 league appearances last season.
This marks a return to familiar ground for Onyekuru, who previously featured in the Turkish top flight with Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor. He enjoyed a successful stint at Galatasaray, winning both the Turkish Super Lig and Turkish Cup during the 2018/19 season.
Gençlerbirliği secured promotion to the Super Lig last season and will look to Onyekuru’s experience to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
