Ogun Commissioner Speaks on Alleged Rape Case Involving TikToker Mirabel

The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, has addressed the alleged rape case involving TikToker Mirabel.
In a statement shared on X, the commissioner confirmed that Mirabel received medical treatment and appropriate care before being returned to the Ogun State Police for further investigation.
Adeleye emphasised that the matter remains under active investigation and urged members of the public to avoid speculation.
“Following initial medical attention and appropriate care, she has been handed back to the Ogun State Police to enable them conclude their investigation. She remains a victim of an alleged crime unless and until the outcome of the investigation determines otherwise,” she stated.
The commissioner called for calm, stressing that premature conclusions could interfere with due process.
She added that law enforcement authorities should be allowed to carry out their duties professionally and without external pressure. According to her, anyone found responsible at the end of the investigation will face prosecution in line with Nigerian law.
“At the conclusion of the investigation, anyone found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We remain committed to upholding justice, due process, and the rule of law,” she said.
Authorities have not released further details as investigations continue.
