Odera Mbadiwe Breaks Silence After Being Declared Missing, Says He Is Safe and Recovering
The hospitality entrepreneur reveals he ingested harmful substances and thanks Nigerians for their support during his ordeal.
Odera Mbadiwe, elder brother of former Big Brother Naija housemates known as the Mbadiwe twins, has addressed the public after being declared missing for several days.
The hospitality entrepreneur, who was earlier reported missing by his brother on social media, has now confirmed that he is safe and recuperating.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Odera explained that his ordeal stemmed from the ingestion of harmful substances that left him incapacitated.
He disclosed that a young woman and a man found him in distress by the roadside and quickly alerted his family, an action he said helped secure his safety.
Expressing gratitude for the overwhelming concern and support, Mbadiwe thanked Nigerians, the police, and other security agencies for rallying around him during the period of uncertainty.
“After missing for three days, I, Odera Mbadiwe of the Ozuomba Mbadiwe family, am deeply thankful to be safe and recovering,” he wrote.
He added that the experience has been a turning point, teaching him valuable lessons:
“It was later discovered that a harmful substance had been introduced to my system by person or persons unknown to me, which led to a very difficult and uncertain time… I feel much better now, growing stronger every day and returning to my old self.”
Mbadiwe vowed to move forward stronger from the incident while continuing to regain his strength.
