The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command, has apprehended sixteen individuals involved in vandalism, theft, and illegal mining across different parts of Abuja.
The arrests were carried out during late-night operations by the Corps’ CNAI Tactical Squad, which also recovered stolen items including armoured cables, transformer fuses, air conditioners, electrical wires, diggers, and other critical public infrastructure.
FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, reiterated the Corps’ zero tolerance for vandalism and warned that those sabotaging national assets would face the full weight of the law. He emphasized that such crimes would not be treated lightly.
Odumosu urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to support the NSCDC by reporting suspicious activities and providing timely intelligence. He noted that community cooperation is crucial in protecting national infrastructure and ensuring the Corps effectively carries out its mandate.
