NSCDC Deploys 1,531 Personnel Ahead of President Tinubu’s Anambra Visit

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,531 personnel to Anambra State in preparation for President Bola Tinubu’s official visit scheduled for Thursday. The deployment aims to ensure the safety and security of the President and other dignitaries during the visit.

Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr. Olatunde Maku, disclosed that the personnel were drawn from neighboring states, including Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, and Delta, to bolster the security apparatus.

The deployed officers will be responsible for securing critical national, state, and local government assets, as well as maintaining public order throughout the President’s visit.

Maku emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration, stating that the NSCDC would work closely with other security agencies to ensure a seamless operation.

The deployment is part of a broader strategy to enhance security measures during high-profile visits and events, reflecting the Corps’ commitment to national security.

Residents have been advised to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security post.

The NSCDC has also set up emergency response units to address any unforeseen incidents promptly.

Community leaders and stakeholders have expressed support for the deployment, noting that it would boost confidence among residents and deter potential security threats.

The President’s visit is expected to include the commissioning of developmental projects and engagement with local communities.

The NSCDC’s proactive measures underscore the importance of preparedness and vigilance in ensuring the safety of both dignitaries and citizens during such significant events.
