NPFL to Fine Coaches Who Skip Post-Match Interviews

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced it will impose fines on coaches who boycott post-match interviews. This decision was revealed by NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, during a meeting with match commissioners.

Elegbeleye emphasized that coaches and players must attend post-match interviews with the media as part of league regulations. He further stated that any coach failing to comply would face sanctions, including a fine. “It is mandatory for match commissioners to ensure that coaches and players appear for post-match interviews with the media,” Elegbeleye said.

“We expect reports of compliance or not from you as any defaulting coach will be sanctioned. Any coach who fails to attend the post-match interview with the media stands to be fined, and such fine must be paid before the next game, or the coach won’t be allowed on the bench.”

The NPFL’s Matchday 36 games are scheduled to take place across 10 venues today, Wednesday.
