NNPCL, Partners Launch Special Care Baby Unit

The Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, in collaboration with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at the Diete-Koki Memorial Hospital in Opolo, Yenagoa.

During the inauguration, Chief NNPC Upstream Investment Officer, Oluwaseyi Omotowa, represented by Uzor Ejidor, highlighted that the newly donated facility would provide critical care for newborns facing health challenges. She reaffirmed the commitment of the NNPCL-Renaissance joint venture to improving the lives of Nigerians, with a focus on vulnerable newborns.

General Manager of Renaissance Africa Energy Company, Igo Weli who was represented by Community Relations Manager Evans Krukrubor, also underscored the importance of early neonatal care in ensuring the well-being of newborns.

The Permanent Secretary of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Health, Wisdom Suoyo, who received the facility on behalf of Commissioner Seiyefa Brisibe, expressed gratitude for the generous donation. He assured that the facility would be utilized effectively to benefit the people of Bayelsa.

This donation is part of broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system, reduce neonatal mortality, and ensure every child gets a healthy start to life.
