Nigerian Army Promotes Hajara Egbunu to Army Warrant Officer

The Nigerian Army (NA) has made history with the promotion of Hajara Egbunu to the rank of Army Warrant Officer (WO), making her the first female soldier from the elite Infantry Corps and the Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC) to achieve this prestigious rank.

The promotion ceremony took place in Abuja on Friday, where Mathias Amatso, Commander of the Nigerian Army Women Command, decorated Egbunu with her new rank.

Army Warrant Officer is the highest rank for non-commissioned officers and is considered the most junior among the commissioned officer ranks.

Amatso praised Egbunu for her hard work, dedication, and effectiveness in the military, noting that her promotion serves as a reflection of her commitment to service. He also urged her to continue being an inspiration to younger soldiers, emphasizing the core values upheld by the Nigerian Army.
