Media mogul and PDP chieftain Dele Momodu raised sharp criticism of Nigeria’s current political climate on Channels Television, warning that the country appears to be “sliding back into civilian dictatorship”
On the eve of Nigeria’s Democracy Day (June 12), Momodu warned that democratic deterioration was evident across branches of government, warning that “on the eve of June 12, Nigeria is virtually back to civilian dictators who don’t care how you feel or what you think. Nigerians are hungry.”
He lamented the apparent disregard among political elites executive, legislative, local for citizens’ voices, calling it a betrayal of the sacrifices made during Nigeria’s pro-democracy movements .
Momodu also signalled that elements within the PDP including Wike’s alleged manipulation have harmed party cohesion and progress. “The audacity, the effrontery… is totally unbelievable,” he remarked.
