Comedian and singer Nasboi has appealed to music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia to address the controversies currently surrounding his personal life. In an emotional open letter shared online, Nasboi said he was deeply troubled by recent viral videos and reports, noting that they contradict the image of dignity and humility that defined 2Baba’s career for decades.
Nasboi described the veteran artiste as one of his earliest inspirations, recalling how he admired 2Baba’s music and character from the age of 16. According to him, the singer’s calm disposition and respectful conduct helped shape his own understanding of humility in the entertainment industry.
He expressed concern that the situation now unfolding online presents a version of 2Baba that longtime fans do not recognise. While acknowledging that every family faces private struggles, the comedian urged the singer to regain control of the narrative to protect his reputation.
Nasboi wrote that the circulating clips “hurt” because they show behaviour inconsistent with the 2Baba many Nigerians grew up admiring. He appealed to the artiste to step forward and stabilise the situation, saying fans still believe in his legacy and want to see the composure that once defined him.
He concluded by reaffirming his respect and concern, signing the message “from a boy who has loved you since he was 16.”
