NAPTIP Summons Speed Darlington Over Alleged Sexual Misconduct with Minor

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has summoned controversial entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, over allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor.
The action comes after the singer, during a recent Instagram Live session, claimed to have had a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl. The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) promptly reported the incident to NAPTIP, urging a thorough investigation into the disturbing claims.
Following public backlash, Speed Darlington released a follow-up video, stating that the controversial remarks were part of a promotional stunt for a new song. He also issued an apology, expressing regret for any offense or distress caused.
In an official statement released on Thursday, NAPTIP confirmed that the singer has been summoned for questioning and warned that legal action will be taken if he fails to comply.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to protecting minors and ensuring accountability in all cases of alleged abuse or exploitation.
