MultiChoice has announced an increase in the prices of its DStv and GOtv packages, set to take effect from March 1, 2025. This decision was communicated to customers in a statement issued on Monday.
The statement, titled “Price Adjustments for DStv and GOtv Packages,” explained that the price adjustments are necessary to continue delivering high-quality homegrown and international content through advanced technology. MultiChoice added that the increase follows nearly a year since its last price review.
Under the new pricing structure, DStv’s Compact bouquet will rise from N15,700 to N19,000, Compact Plus will jump to N30,000, and the Premium subscription will see an increase to N44,500.
Similarly, GOtv customers will see their subscriptions rise, with the standard package increasing from N3,600 to N3,900. The GOtv Plus package will rise from N4,850 to N5,800, while the GOtv Max package will now cost N8,500. The Supa package will be adjusted to N11,400, and Supa Plus will cost N16,800.
The price hike comes as MultiChoice cites rising operational costs in Nigeria, attributing the increase to the depreciating value of the naira and high inflation that has driven up business expenses.
