Chelsea legend John Mikel Obi has expressed his hope that the Blues will sign his fellow Nigerian, Victor Osimhen, this summer. Osimhen was on the verge of joining Chelsea from Napoli last summer, but the deal collapsed due to the forward’s wage demands.
The 26-year-old has once again been linked with a move to Chelsea, who are expected to sign a new striker during the upcoming transfer window. Manchester United is also reportedly interested in the player, with a potential lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia still on the table.
Mikel, however, is keen to see Osimhen join his former club. Speaking as a pundit on Bein Sports, Mikel said, “He (Osimhen) wants to play for Chelsea. I hope he’ll be playing his football next season somewhere in the Premier League. I hope he comes. I know where we stopped with the contract. I know where we are. It’s an easy fix because we’ve done all the hard work last summer.”
