Former England international Micah Richards has tipped Manchester City to reclaim the Premier League title in the current season.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, following the completion of nine out of ten opening round fixtures, Richards shared his thoughts on how the title race might unfold.
City, who had secured the league title in four consecutive seasons, were unseated last term by Liverpool, who ended the campaign 10 points ahead of Arsenal. The Gunners, notably, have now finished as runners-up for three successive seasons.
Despite Liverpool’s recent dominance, Richards believes City will return to the top of the table this season, surpassing both the Reds and Arsenal.
Offering his top-five prediction for the campaign, Richards named: “Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur.”
City began their season emphatically with a 4-0 victory over Wolves. Liverpool opened with a 4-2 win against Bournemouth, while Arsenal claimed a narrow 1-0 away win over Manchester United.
