May Day 2025: Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment to Workers’ Welfare, Pledges Inclusive Economic Reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerian workers of his administration’s steadfast commitment to improving their welfare, acknowledging their resilience and invaluable contributions to the nation’s growth and stability.

In a message to commemorate the 2025 International Workers’ Day, the President described the Nigerian workforce as the engine of national development—spanning both formal and informal sectors—and a key pillar of the country’s economic advancement.

“You are the heartbeat of our economy and the foundation of our national progress,” Tinubu said. “My administration remains resolute in prioritising your welfare and ensuring that the dignity of labour is not only preserved but celebrated. Together, we will build a more prosperous and equitable Nigeria.”

The President applauded workers for their dedication amid economic and social challenges, highlighting the essential role they play in homes, communities, industries, and public service.

He also reaffirmed his government’s pledge to foster a fairer, more productive economy that delivers for all citizens, promising reforms that support job creation, social protection, and improved living standards.

In a tone aimed at unity and national renewal, Tinubu concluded his address with a rallying call:
“Happy Workers’ Day, Nigeria. Let us move forward—together—toward a brighter, stronger future.”
