May 29: Barau Commends Tinubu’s Leadership, Affirms Nigeria’s Steady Progress

Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership as Nigeria marks the second anniversary of his administration, affirming that the country is steadily advancing toward sustainable growth and prosperity.

In a statement released Wednesday and signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau applauded Tinubu for laying a solid foundation aimed at restoring Nigeria’s national pride and economic strength.

“I join millions of Nigerians and well-wishers around the world in congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on two years of visionary and transformative leadership,” Barau stated. “Despite inheriting daunting challenges, the President has implemented bold policies and initiatives that are reshaping Nigeria’s future.”

Highlighting key accomplishments under Tinubu’s tenure, Barau emphasized significant gains in the areas of security and economic revitalization. He noted that concerted efforts have led to the neutralization of hundreds of terrorists, particularly in the Northwest, while several previously insecure areas are now under government control.

“Kidnappings on the Abuja-Kaduna highway have sharply decreased, and violent attacks by unknown gunmen in the Southeast have significantly subsided,” he remarked. “Though isolated Boko Haram attacks persist in parts of Borno State, the group’s capacity has been substantially diminished under the current security strategies.”

Looking forward, Senator Barau expressed optimism about Nigeria’s development trajectory, pointing to the establishment of development commissions across the six geopolitical zones as a catalyst for equitable growth nationwide.

He also praised the government’s efforts to expand access to quality healthcare and education, highlighting the establishment of multiple new tertiary institutions. Describing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund as “unprecedented,” Barau noted that over 300,000 students have benefited from this initiative.

Barau further underscored the overwhelming support for President Tinubu’s second term bid by the All Progressives Congress (APC), viewing it as a clear endorsement of his achievements and a mandate to continue delivering on his promises.

Reaffirming the National Assembly’s unwavering backing for the Renewed Hope Agenda, Senator Barau urged Nigerians to unite in support of the President’s vision.
