Martinelli Welcomes Competition Amid Arsenal’s Interest in Nico Williams

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has responded to reports linking the Premier League club with a move for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, expressing his readiness to compete for a starting role if the transfer materializes.
Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly targeting at least two attacking reinforcements this summer, with Williams emerging as a key option. The Spanish international, who primarily operates from the left wing, would directly rival Martinelli for a spot in Arsenal’s starting XI next season.
Despite the potential challenge to his position, Martinelli remains unfazed and has embraced the competition.
“We play for Arsenal – it’s a competition every day,” he told reporters. “The club wants to have the best players in the world, because it is one of the biggest in the world as well. We are used to it.”
He added, “We are a big club. We need to have the best players. I will be really happy when we have big players coming to the team.”
