Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has admitted it could be “impossible” for any team to stop Liverpool in this season’s Premier League title race.
The Reds have won all five of their opening fixtures, opening a five-point lead at the top of the table.
Maresca’s Chelsea are already seven points adrift, while last season, Arne Slot’s men clinched the title with four games to spare.
Liverpool bolstered their squad with a huge summer outlay of over £400m, including Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth up to £116m, and Alexander Isak for £125m on deadline day.
Maresca said:
“If they continue in this way, I think it is impossible to catch them, not just for us, but for all the clubs.
They have been doing a fantastic job since last year, and the players they decided to buy show the intention of the club to go again for the Premier League and the Champions League, and that is quite clear.”
