The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has donated six Armoured Personnel Carriers to the state Police Command to strengthen the state’s internal security apparatus.
Makinde, who presented the APCs to the institution through his Deputy, Bayo Lawal, in Ibadan, the state capital, reaffirmed his “”administration’s commitment to securing lives and property.”
He described the donation as a crucial intervention amid growing security challenges.
The governor explained that the APCs were procured at significant cost, and emphasized the importance of deploying them strictly for public safety and maintaining order.
He said, “The State Government is also acquiring two surveillance aircraft to strengthen aerial monitoring across the state.”
