Makinde Reorganizes Oyo Cabinet, Reassigns Commissioners for Better Governance

The reshuffle affects key ministries including Works, Energy, Education, and Establishments as the governor reinforces commitment to effective service delivery.

In a bid to reposition his administration for greater efficiency, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved a reshuffling of his cabinet, reassigning five commissioners to new portfolios.

The cabinet changes were announced on Monday via a statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, and communicated through a letter from the Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.

According to the announcement, Professor Dahud Kehinde Sangodoyin, formerly the Commissioner for Public Works, will now lead the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Likewise, Solihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu, previously in charge of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has been moved to head the Ministry of Establishments and Training.

In a reciprocal swap, Commissioner Segun Olayiwola, who formerly served in the Establishments Ministry, will now oversee the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Governor Makinde stated that the reshuffle is aimed at optimizing the performance of key sectors and ensuring that the administration continues to meet the expectations of the people.

“These movements take immediate effect,” the governor declared, urging the affected officials to carry out their new assignments with “utmost loyalty, dedication, and a renewed sense of responsibility.”

Insiders at the government house view the move as part of ongoing efforts by the Makinde-led administration to maintain momentum in service delivery and development projects across the state.

Though no new appointments were made, political analysts suggest more changes may follow as the governor fine-tunes his cabinet ahead of the next political cycle.
