Luis Figo Backs Lamine Yamal as Future Ballon d’Or Winner After Stellar Season

Former Portugal captain Luís Figo has praised Lamine Yamal’s potential to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award.
During the past season, Yamal delivered an impressive performance for Barcelona, scoring 18 goals and providing 25 assists.
At just 17 years old, he played a vital role in Hansi Flick’s squad, contributing significantly to their triumphs in both LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.
Yamal’s remarkable season has placed him among the frontrunners in the Ballon d’Or discussions for this year.
He is considered one of the top candidates for the honor, alongside Barcelona teammate Raphinha and Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé.
Speaking to GOAL at the PlayStation House event in Munich on Saturday, Figo said: “If he continues working hard like he’s doing and playing like this – in the future, for sure.”
