Liverpool Plot Record-Breaking Move for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak

Liverpool are strongly pursuing a deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United and are prepared to break their transfer record for the second time this summer to secure the Swedish striker.

The Reds have already splashed £116 million to land Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, setting a new club record in the process. Wirtz arrived alongside his Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong, while Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has also joined the Anfield outfit.

Despite these high-profile additions, the reigning Premier League champions are not finished in the transfer market and are now targeting a sensational move for Isak.

It is believed that any deal for the 24-year-old Sweden international would require a British record transfer fee—exceeding £125 million.

Liverpool are expected to initiate talks with Newcastle United if they receive any indication that a deal could be possible.

However, Newcastle remain firm in their stance that Isak is not for sale. The Magpies are instead focused on offering the forward an improved contract, raising his current £120,000-a-week salary.

Isak is currently training with the Newcastle squad at their pre-season camp in Austria, as speculation around his future begins to intensify.
