Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has denied allegations that she threw shade at her colleague, Biola Bayo, following the latter’s recent announcement of her failed marriage.
The speculation began after Bakare posted a video of herself dancing on Instagram, captioned with a cryptic message commonly used on social media in the context of heartbreak or relationship troubles:
“All of us will eat breakfast. Asiko lo ma ya to. Good morning people.”
Given the timing of the post—just as Biola Bayo publicly revealed the end of her marriage—many netizens accused Bakare of being insensitive and mocking her colleague.
In response to the backlash, Laide Bakare released a video on Friday from California, firmly denying the claims and expressing her support for Bayo.
“Something must be wrong with you—bad commenters and trolls association,” she said. “Let us be guided, please. It’s still June 5th here in California. I would never shade my own sister, Biola Bayo. My prayers are with her. I wasn’t even aware of the news—I’ve been busy with my daughter’s graduation. Trolls are evil.”
Bakare emphasized that the timing of her post was purely coincidental and urged the public not to misinterpret her intentions.
