In a concerted effort to combat drug-related activities, the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Task Force) conducted a raid in the Gowon Estate area of Alimosho Local Government Area, resulting in the arrest of 53 suspects involved in drug peddling and abuse.

The operation targeted notorious black spots, including 31 Road Junction, Bless Jah Street, Adenle Crescent, Owo Omo Osho Street, and parts of Okunola Road, identified through weeks of surveillance as hubs for illicit drug activities.

Recovered items included various illicit substances such as Colorado, suspected Canadian Loud hemp, tramadol capsules, codeine syrups, as well as drug paraphernalia like weighing scales and crushers. Authorities noted that many of the suspects are also linked to cult groups operating in the area.
