The Kebbi State Government has officially confirmed that 30 people were killed in coordinated bandit attacks across the Zuru Emirate, with 16 victims in Tadurga and 14 in Kyebu and Yar-Kuka of Waje District.
Local government chairmen Muhammad Gajere (Zuru) and Hussaini Bena (Danko Wasagu) revealed that several others were injured, as the attackers also looted livestock and valuables.
Deputy Governor Umar Tafida, representing Governor Nasir Idris, visited the affected communities to convey condolences and promised heightened security measures, including the sealing of entry points into these towns.
Gajere’s and Bena’s accounts were shared during his visit.
Durable peace efforts received a boost as Chief of Dabai Alhaji Suleman Dabai praised the government’s swift response and credited Governor Idris’s leadership for notable security improvements in the region.
To support local recovery, Tafida announced ₦50 million in aid—₦25 million each for Tadurga and Kyebu—to assist bereaved families and survivors.
