Kaduna Begins Medical Screening for 2025 Hajj Pilgrims

The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Agency has initiated medical screenings for all registered pilgrims intending to perform this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia. Yunusa Abdullahi, the agency’s spokesperson, confirmed the start of the exercise in an interview with the  on Sunday. The screening process began across the state on Sunday.

Abdullahi stated, “All registered intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj must undergo compulsory medical screening this week.” He explained that the purpose of the exercise is to assess the health status of the pilgrims ahead of the spiritual journey. As part of the process, prospective female pilgrims are required to undergo mandatory pregnancy tests.

Abdullahi clarified that the medical screening is not meant to disqualify anyone but to ensure adequate medical support, especially for those with conditions like diabetes or hypertension. He also noted that pilgrims would be provided with two meals per day during their stay in Saudi Arabia.

He stressed that only tests carried out in government-approved hospitals would be accepted, and warned that any pilgrim who refuses to undergo the medical and pregnancy tests risks losing their opportunity to participate in the pilgrimage. Abdullahi advised intending pilgrims to collect their medical cards from their registration officers before visiting the designated hospitals for screening.
