Iyabo Ojo Responds to Criticism Over Activism for Late Singer Mohbad

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has opened up about the backlash she faced while advocating for justice for the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.

In a recent appearance on the ‘Glass House’ with AY, Ojo revealed that her efforts to seek justice attracted harsh criticism and serious allegations, including accusations of involvement in Mohbad’s death.

“I was even accused of killing Mohbad,” Ojo stated. “I wasn’t around when he died, and I didn’t know him well. Our interaction was limited to the One Africa Music Fest, where I found him to be a cool guy navigating his own challenges in the music industry.”

Despite the allegations, Ojo emphasized her genuine intention to pursue justice for Mohbad. “If I were involved in his death, why would I be advocating for his body to be exhumed for an autopsy?” she asked. She also addressed claims that she was seeking publicity or political gain through her activism.

“They said I was paid for my activism and even accused me of using this situation for clout. So many things have been said about me, but I’m not bothered,” she asserted. “My sole aim has been to help seek justice for Mohbad.”
