Israel Strikes Deep into Tehran, Hits Alleged Nuclear Weapons Research Hub

In a startling escalation of the Israel–Iran conflict, the Israeli military disclosed a significant overnight airstrike in Tehran reportedly striking “dozens of targets,” including a key center tied to Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
Among the sites hit were missile manufacturing facilities, component production sites, and the SPND headquarters, the Organization for Defensive Innovation and Research widely regarded as the nucleus of Iran’s nuclear-weapons R&D effort.
The operation involved over 60 fighter jets, which targeted strategic facilities producing missile engines and raw materials. Israeli officials say the SPND site is directly linked to development efforts bolstering Iran’s advanced military capabilities.
In addition, the Israeli military claimed to have intercepted four unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Iranian territory. On Friday morning, they also reported neutralizing three missile launchers poised to strike Israeli territory.
This strike comes eight days into the hostilities that erupted when Israel launched its first wave of strikes, citing imminent threats from Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Amid rising diplomatic efforts—European foreign ministers are set to meet with their Iranian counterpart—U.S. President Trump is reportedly deliberating possible American intervention.
