Israel Bombs Iranian State TV as Air War Enters Fifth Day; Trump Urges Tehran Evacuation

Israel’s military launched a new wave of airstrikes on Tehran Tuesday, including a dramatic hit on the headquarters of Iranian state television, reportedly killing three staff members. The attack marked the fifth consecutive day of hostilities between Israel and Iran, escalating fears of a broader regional conflict.

In response, Iran fired multiple missiles into Israel, prompting air raid sirens across the country and triggering missile defense systems.

The Israeli military reported intercepting several incoming projectiles, with some debris causing minor damage in Tel Aviv. Despite the ongoing exchanges, both nations have activated their respective missile defense systems, indicating a high state of alert.

U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly departed the G7 summit in Canada to return to Washington, citing the escalating situation in the Middle East.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump issued an urgent warning for Tehran residents to “immediately evacuate,” though he later dismissed reports suggesting he left to broker a ceasefire, stating the matter was “much bigger than that.”

The Pentagon confirmed the U.S. was deploying additional defensive assets to the region, including the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, which altered its course to head toward the Middle East.

The conflict began Friday when Israel launched an unprecedented aerial campaign targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Iran responded with missile and drone attacks, resulting in casualties on both sides.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is “eliminating Iran’s security leadership one after the other,” while Iran’s Revolutionary Guards vowed to continue their retaliatory strikes “without interruption until dawn.”

International calls for de-escalation have intensified. A joint statement by 21 countries’ foreign ministers condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Iran and called for regional de-escalation, nuclear disarmament, and respect for international law.

China has urged both Israel and Iran to cease hostilities and return to dialogue, warning of greater instability in the region.

As the situation remains volatile, global leaders continue to monitor developments closely, with concerns mounting over the potential for a wider Middle Eastern conflict.
