
The 2025 summer transfer window officially closed on the night of Monday, September 1, capping off a record-breaking period of spending across Europe.
Liverpool dominated the market, securing three of the most expensive deals of the summer with the signings of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike.
Here are the 10 biggest transfers worldwide completed this summer:
1. Alexander Isak – Newcastle United to Liverpool, £125m. The Sweden striker’s blockbuster move was the most expensive transfer of the window.
2. Florian Wirtz – Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool, £100m rising to £116m. The German playmaker became the Reds’ second marquee addition.

6. Victor Osimhen – Napoli to Galatasaray, £64.8m. The Nigerian star’s surprise switch to Turkey was one of the most talked-about moves of the summer.
7. Nick Woltemade – Stuttgart to Newcastle United, £64.7m rising to £69m. The German forward became part of Newcastle’s ambitious rebuild.
8. Matheus Cunha – Wolves to Manchester United, £62.5m. The Brazilian attacker joined as part of United’s sweeping summer revamp.
9. Luis Díaz – Liverpool to Bayern Munich, £60.5m rising to £64.8m. The Colombian winger swapped Anfield for the Bundesliga champions.
