INEC Launches Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially kicked off the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

According to an official flyer released by the commission, the online pre-registration will begin on August 18, 2025, through the dedicated portal http://cvr.inecnigeria.org.

Physical registration will commence a week later, starting August 25, 2025. Interested Nigerians can visit INEC Local Government Area (LGA) offices and other designated centers across the country from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to complete their registration.

INEC urged all eligible citizens to take advantage of this opportunity, stressing that the right to vote is grounded in voter registration.

“Your vote starts with registration. Don’t miss your chance to register,” the commission emphasized.

The electoral body also encouraged Nigerians to follow its official social media channels for timely updates throughout the registration exercise.

This CVR initiative underscores INEC’s commitment to ensuring inclusiveness, transparency, and credibility in Nigeria’s electoral process.
