Ikorodu City head coach Ali Kandil has explained why his side failed to overcome El-Kanemi Warriors in their latest Nigeria Premier Football League fixture.
The Lagos-based club, popularly known as the Oga Boys, were held to a 0-0 stalemate by El-Kanemi at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday.
Reflecting on the result, Kandil pointed to his players’ sluggish start as a major factor.
“We lacked intensity in the first half. It’s a tough result to take,” Kandil admitted.
“It’s always hard to play against teams that play mid block and low block.”
The Oga Boys will look to bounce back when they face South West rivals Shooting Stars in their next league encounter.
