
The House of Representatives has overwhelmingly voted to endorse the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, following a request from President Bola Tinubu. The approval came after the President sent a formal letter to the House, urging lawmakers to support the measure.
During a plenary session on Thursday, the House voted in favor of the declaration. Speaker Tajudeen Abbass confirmed that 240 lawmakers participated in the session, ensuring that the quorum requirements were met for the vote to proceed.
