Gyökeres Informs Sporting He Wants to Leave This Summer

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres has expressed his desire to leave the Portuguese champions during the upcoming summer transfer window, revealing his decision to club president Frederico Varandas.

This information was shared by renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a post on his X account early Tuesday morning.

According to Romano, the Swedish international no longer wishes to continue playing for Sporting CP.

He tweeted: “Viktor Gyökeres has already personally informed Sporting president Varandas about his decision to leave, no intention to play for the club anymore.

“Gyökeres wants a new chapter, he feels heartbroken after exit pact and not expected to return to training as @abolapt reports.”

Gyökeres has been linked with several moves away from Sporting this summer, with interest reportedly coming from Arsenal, Manchester United, and various other European clubs.

The 27-year-old forward joined Sporting from Coventry City in 2023.
