 Gunmen Kill At Least 11 in Christmas Day Attack on Communities in Benue State

Unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed at least 11 people in an attack on several communities in Nyiev-ya, located in the Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

The tragic incident took place on December 25, as families were gathered to celebrate Christmas, a time meant for joy and togetherness.

A resident of the affected community, who spoke to newsmen on Thursday under the condition of anonymity, confirmed the attack. The source revealed that a distress message was received, alerting the residents that Nyiev-ya was under siege by the assailants.

Authorities are yet to provide further details on the incident, but the community is said to be in mourning as the devastating attack disrupts the festive season.
