Guardiola Plans Summer Clear-Out, Six Man City Players Could Exit

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly preparing to trim his squad this summer, with at least six players expected to depart.

As per a report from Goal, the players on the potential exit list include Ederson, Nathan Ake, Joshua Wilson-Esbrand, Claudio Echeverri, Kalvin Phillips, and Savinho.

Following City’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Wolves in their Premier League opener last weekend, Guardiola expressed concerns about the size of his current squad, stating it remains excessively large.

Ederson was notably absent from the matchday squad, amid ongoing transfer negotiations with Turkish side Galatasaray.

Similarly, Savinho was left out of the lineup, with Tottenham Hotspur currently pursuing a deal to sign the winger from City’s ranks.

Kalvin Phillips, who has previously spent time on loan at Ipswich Town and West Ham United, is now expected to make a permanent exit from the Etihad.

Meanwhile, Ake, Wilson-Esbrand, and Echeverri have all been categorized as surplus to requirements by Guardiola.
