Ghana Seal 2026 World Cup Spot as Five African Nations Book Tickets to USA, Canada, and Mexico

Ghana have secured their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the fifth African nation to qualify for next year’s tournament.

The Black Stars, led by Otto Addo, clinched qualification after a 1-0 victory over Comoros at home, finishing top of Group I.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Mohammed Kudus scored the decisive goal in the second half to seal Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance, following previous outings in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022.

Ghana finished ahead of Madagascar and Mali, who placed second and third, respectively.

Other African teams that have already booked their spots for the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, are Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria.
