Genk Boss Fink Explains Arokodare Omission Amid Wolves Transfer Talks

Genk head coach, Thorsten Fink, has explained why Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare was excluded from the squad for Thursday night’s UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Lech Poznan.
According to Fink, the decision was made to avoid unnecessary risk, as the player is on the verge of departing the club.
Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are currently in discussions with Genk over a potential transfer for Arokodare. The striker, who is said to be open to a move to Molineux, is reportedly valued at €20 million, a fee Wolves appear prepared to meet.
Fink confirmed the ongoing negotiations between the two clubs regarding the Nigerian international.
“Negotiations are underway. A club is interested. It was too risky for both parties to play,” the gaffer told HLN.
Arokodare finished last season as the top scorer in the Belgian Pro League, having netted 21 goals.
